I appreciate this article, Wayne.  It is easier to “implement a program” than it is to change the paradigm for evangelism in our churches.

We had begun working on this before I attended the Good Soil seminar because we saw a need for reformation in our Sunday School program.  We have been working on using some of the Answers in Genesis materials in some of our grades.  Since I came back from ABWE I’ve found that a neighboring church has implemented materials from New Tribes in their Sunday School - and we will look at that as well.

You presented your materials and others.  I’m trying them out now in my own evangelism and discipleship - with some good and interesting results.  I’ve also started using the DVD “The Hope” with my teen group.  Tonight I will start an evening worship series designed to introduce the whole church to the idea and the materials.  Eventually we will offer the Good Soil Training here for a smaller group.

My feeling is that it is OVERWHELMING!  How will we ever get there?

But on the other hand, every step is another step in the right direction.  We are closer than we were when we started thinking in this direction!

I am thinking that eventually we will establish an Evangelist’s Club here.  We will meet monthly to pray for evangelism and to share our stories and to train for evangelism.  I don’t think it will be a big group, but I hope it will be an intense group.  I think this will accomplish some of the matters that you lay out in the blog.

Thanks,
Dave
